Sadie Jean Takes TikTok By Storm

WYD Now has since been shared all over TikTok, granting Sadie Jean as a trending sound on the app, alongside GAYLE’s “abcdef.” The tone of her vocals stand out amongst a sea of TikTok dance routines, and side hustle claims of making six figure incomes. As you may very well know, that kind of success and recognition does not come cheap and easy””it takes hard work, perseverance, and dedication to your craft, which is undoubtedly what drove Sadie to reach the point in her career that she is at today. Even more, TikTok artists are finding success independently as content creators on the app, and preferring to continue pursuing that path over signing over record label deals with The Big Three.

WYD Now has landed itself on Spotify Editorial playlists such as Big On The Internet through organic reach via TikTok shares. At the time of this article being published, Sadie is at 774,927 monthly listeners on Spotify. The single is her only release to date, marking the beginning of an abundant start in her music career. The only way from here is up! It’ll be interesting to see how she follows up this single. Whether or not she chooses to continue the single route or release an album. The song combined with the laid back feel of the album art makes the entire listening experience feel more personal, like you’re going through this rough patch alongside Sadie as opposed to simply observing her retelling of the events that transpired. More specifically, the title is made to look like a personal note handwritten in black using a Sharpie. It’s reminiscent of the Polaroid days in which photos were not photoshopped or altered, they were a simple point and shoot, the photo being developed and printed right then and there. Moreover, it’s a funny play-on-words that Sadie is pictured wearing jeans in the album art as her name is Sadie Jean.
