Matteo Bocelli & Sebastian Yatra Team Up For “Until She’s Gone”

Italian singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli and Colombian singer-songwriter Sebastian Yatra teamed up for the soaring ballad “Until She’s Gone” released in English, Spanish (“Tu Luz Quedo”) and Italian (“Un Attimo di Te”).

In the romantic track, Bocelli and Yatra sing about regrets and longing for reconciliation. Their voices blend so perfectly and this is a collaboration that was meant to be. The artists are backed by poignant piano and soaring strings.

Bocelli says in a press release, “Until She’s Gone” is an incredible romantic ballad that I had the pleasure of singing with my friend Sebastian Yatra. I met him two years ago and we immediately connected on a musical and personal level. I am so honored to sing this song with him in Spanish, English and Italian. It is truly an international project.”

Yatra echoed the sentiments in the press release by saying, “Matteo is a terrific artist and I am deeply excited about having the opportunity of doing so in Spanish, English and Italian. I’ve always been inspired by the Italian language and their music, starting from Matteo’s father Andrea Bocelli. Matteo and I had a spectacular time in Malta shooting the video and hopefully we’ll get to sing this song live many times.”

“I put you last / But you’re always first / And I know I’ll regret it / For all the days that I have left / I’m gonna close my eyes to keep you here / I’m gonna let you go and disappear / Somehow I know I’ll see you smile again/ And then we’ll meet again”.

Sometimes love is difficult and the best thing to do is let them go no matter how much it hurts – always cherish the wonderful memories. The accompanying music video was shot in the Mediterranean island of Malta which is a gorgeous addition to showcase the single.

All three versions of the song were produced by Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, who have worked on Luis Fonsi’s multi-platinum hit single “Despacito”. Bocelli wrote the track with Emma Rohan (Little Mix) and Jez Ashurst and collaborated with Yatra on the spanish lyrics.

Going to grade school with Yatra, I always knew he was destined for a career in the music industry- singing in the school hallways sometimes. He has a long, exciting career ahead of him and he’s already killing it with collaborations such as this one and with John Legend. Performing at the Oscars too? He’s living the dream and I can’t wait to see his career flourish even further.

Bocelli has proved himself thus far to be a force in the music industry. His range is impeccable with much more to come. Look for his debut album this year.
