Making Waves – Ewan Mainwood

So far, 2022 has been quite the year for him; and with the release of his latest single ‘Worry‘, it is only set to get bigger and better for this 22-year-old emerging star.

Hailing from North-East London, Ewan is inspired by the likes of The Beatles and Oasis, and prides himself on emotive storytelling within his songs that really tug at the heartstrings of his audience. Ewan has been writing songs from as young as seven years old and, as a result of so much practise is able to take a personal experience and make it relatable to a just about anybody, which is the sign of a truly great artist.

His debut single ‘No One Saving Me’ is a passionate heartbreak anthem which really packs a punch, as it explores how constantly feeling like you need to fix someone and their problems can break a relationship, and ultimately, sometimes you need to put yourself first.

Recently, things really seem to be taking off for Ewan as he has been getting very high-profile support slots which is definitely helping his fan base grow at a rapid pace. However, one might ask, apart from his innate talent which can’t be argued, what is setting this young star apart from his peers. Well, in 2020, Ewan was introduced to Jake Gosling, who is a renowned writer and producer in the UK and is well known for being a big contributor to Ed Sheeran’s early work. Jake had credits on hits such as ‘The A Team‘, ‘Lego House‘ and ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You‘, to name a few. Since then, his career has gone from strength to strength. It also doesn’t hurt that he is now signed to Andy Wells/Grumpy Old Management (the company behind the success of Ed Sheeran). Ewan has now signed both a publishing and record deal with Warner Music and has supported the likes of Maisie Peters, Lola Young, Tom Walker, Rationale (who also co-wrote Worry) and of course Ed Sheeran.

His latest single ‘Worry’ stirs up feeling of nostalgia as it is about reminiscing on an old love and wondering if they miss you the same way you miss them. Both songs are taken from his upcoming debut EP ‘Broken‘ which is slated for a summertime release.

Having only released two songs and already supported many big names, it’s clear that Ewan has got a dedicated and hard-working team behind him, but the talent and passion that Ewan puts in his music really shines through, which is ultimately the key to his success.

Go ahead and check out both his songs and give him a follow to keep updated with his upcoming music and live shows.
